Did this in 2 days following the NPS Recommended Backcountry Trip of the same name. I would recommend doing this hike in the winter because you can see all of the mountains due to the lack of leaves. We both used to be very athletic but were not the most fit people in the world these days, but this was a good (but challenging!) In 0.8 miles you will come to the Doyles River parking intersection, bear left to arrive back at the parking lot in 50 yards. If you want to make this a 3 day hike, Big Run Portal Trail is apparently a good spot. If you are looking for a quick, nice, get outdoors type of hike this is the one! Let me just start by saying this closer to 19.5 miles. It is definitely not maintained on this trail and I would definitely recommend this hike as a fall winter loop because I imagine it would really be overgrown in Spring and Summer.
